Norfolk Virginian Pilot Monday June 13, 1938
Miss Sallie G. Cooke, aged 84 years, daughter of the late Robert and Mrs. 
Virginia Russell Cooke, died in this city yesterday evening at 6 o'clock.  
Miss Cooke was a native of York County and a resident of Norfolk for the 
past 73 years and was a sister of the late Thomas Russell Cooke.  She is 
survived by one niece, Mrs. Martha Cooke Ballou, of Norfolk; a nephew, Wylie 
Rountree Cooke, of Lynchburg; three grand-nieces and one grand-nephew.  
Funeral services will be held at the residence of Miss Marian Cooke, 522 
Boissevain avenue, tomorrow at 12 o'clock noon with the Rev. Moultrie 
Guerry, rector of Old St. Paul's Church, of which Miss Cooke was a member, 
officiating.  Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
