Norfolk Landmark June 7, 1898
The funeral of Mrs. Thomas R. Cooke, who died suddenly Friday night last, took 
place at 12 o’clock yesterday at the residence of her father, Mr. W. D. Rountree, 
No. 163 Freemason street, and was largely attended. The services were conducted by 
the Rev. Dr. B. D. Tucker, of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, assisted by the Rev Dr. 
W. J. Young, of Epworth Methodist Church. The pallbearers were: Messrs. Caldwell 
Hardy, A. H. Grandy, John N. Vaughn, R. D. Doyle, Frank Clark, Page Taylor, G. M. 
Dillard and N. M. Osborne, Jr., and the interment was in Elmwood Cemetery.
