Cooke died at her home, No. 40 York street, Sunday evening, at 8 o’clock, after a lingering illness, aged sixty-one years. The deceased was a lady of gentle and amiable character and a consistent Christian, being a member of the Episcopal Church at the time of her death. She was the wife of our townsman, Major Augustus B. Cooke, and mother of Mr. R. B. Cooke, agent of the New York, Philadelphia and Norfolk railroad, and also leaves other children and relatives to deeply regret her demise. She was the daughter of Captain Langley, for years a resident of Norfolk, and was the sister of Captain Charles B. Langley, of this city. The funeral will take place at 5:30 o’clock this afternoon from her late residence.
