The Virginian Pilot Monday October 1, 1956
Mrs. Clara Godwin Cooke, 67, wife of Randolph B. Cooke, a native of Norfolk and 
a lifelong resident of this section, died at the residence, Alanton, London 
Bridge, Princess Anne County, Sunday at 5:15 p.m.
Besides her husband, she is survived by two sons, Randolph Brooks Cooke Jr., of 
Baltimore, and Richard M. Cooke of London Bridge; one daughter, Mrs. Clara Cooke 
O'Connor of Norfolk; three grandchildren; one sister, Lucrece Taylor of Norfolk; 
and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted privately Tuesday at the H.D. Oliver Funeral 
Apartments by the Rev. Henry C. Barton, rector of Eastern Shore Chapel, of which 
Mrs. Cooke was a member.  Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.  The family 
requests that friends omit flowers.
