Cooke Sr., died Monday in Nevada City, Calif. She was a former resident of Norfolk. She was born in Goldsboro, N.C., and had lived in Nevada City for four years. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Woman’s Club, and Catholic Relief of Nevada City. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Marie Wilkins of Nevada City, Calif., two sons, James P. Cooke Jr. of Virginia Beach and Lonnie J. Cooke of Summerville, Ga.; five sisters, Mrs. Nora Stonebreaker of St. Petersburg, Fla., Mrs. Eunice Mion and Mrs. Lillian Clement of San Diego, Calif., Mrs. Grace Williams of Escondido, Calif., and Mrs. Theresa Nimms of Joplin, Mo.; two brothers, Andrew McDermon of Durham, N.C., and Inman McDermon of Tillamook, Ore.; seven grandchildren; and eight great- grandchildren. The body was sent to Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Lynnhaven Chapel, Malibu, Virginia Beach, where the Rosary will be recited tonight at 7. The family will be at 701 Nottingham Drive, Virginia Beach. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in St. Pius X Catholic Church, Norfolk, by the Rev. Francis X. Toner. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Norfolk.
