Norfolk Virginian Pilot April 14, 1953

James Palmer Cooke, Sr., 51, husband of Mrs. Lonnie Agnes Cooke and son of the 
late Joseph and Mrs. Sarah Henry Cooke, died yesterday at 4:10 a.m. at a Norfolk 
hospital. He was a native of Atkinson, N.C. and had been a resident of this 
section for 20 years, residing at Huett Drive, Camelia Shores, Princess Anne 
County, at the time of his death.
Besides his wife, Mrs. Lonnie Agnes Cooke, he is survived by two sons, James P. 
Cooke, Jr. and Lonnie Joseph Cooke of Norfolk; one daughter, Mrs. Marie A. 
Wilkins, of Sacramento, Calif.; three grandchildren; a brother, Robert J. Cooke, 
of Norfolk and a sister, Mrs. Mary Horne, of Groveland, Fla.
Services will be conducted at the H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments tomorrow at 11 
a.m. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.

a.m., JAMES PALMER COOKE, SR., husband of Mrs. Lonnie Agnes Cooke and son of the 
late Joseph and Mrs. Sarah Henry Cooke, in the 52d year of his age. Services 
will be held at the H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, 1501 Colonial Avenue, 
WEDNESDAY MORNING at 11 a.m. Friends of the family are invited to attend. 
Interment, St. Mary's Cemetery.
