Mrs. Mary Ann Cooney — Funeral services for Mrs. Cooney, widow of Patrick H. 
Cooney, who died Wednesday night at the residence, 323 West Twenty-seventh street, 
were held at 10 o’clock yesterday morning at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with 
the Rev. E. P. Kilgalen, pastor, officiating. The Rev. Paul V. Heller was present 
in the sanctuary. There was a large attendance and many floral offerings. The 
casket was covered with clusters of carnations, gladioli, chrysanthemums and fern. 
Several selections were played on the organ during the service by Prof. J. Harvey 
Stevens. Burial was in St. Mary’s Cemetery. The pallbearers were Joseph McCarthy, 
George Evans, Joseph Fantone, Caroleen Fantone, Thomas Hanlon and James Capehart. 
At the conclusion of the mass, Father Heller paid tribute to the Catholic 
character of Mrs. Cooney.
