A funeral service was held at St. James AME Church in Berkley last Thursday for 
Bennie G. Cooper, 54, of 2013 Hodges road, South Norfolk.

The Rev. William Judge officiated and burial was in Mt. Olive Cemetery under 
direction  of Fitchett Funeral Home.

Mr. Cooper died at his home April 1 after a long illness.

He was the son of the late George and Mrs. Tollie Cooper, husband of Mrs. Elnora 
Cooper, and a native of Norfolk.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Cooper is survived by one sister, Mrs. Naomi Barnes 
of Washington, four brothers, James Cooper, The Rev. George Cooper, Floyd 
Cooper, and Albert Cooper, all of Rocky Mount, NC.
