Miss Anne Elizabeth Cooper, 83, a domiciliary patient at James River 
Convalescent Center, died Thursday at the center.
A native of Norfolk, she attended Norfolk public schools, Madison College and 
The College of William and Mary. She was a primary teacher for 13 years in the 
Norfolk school system.
She had formerly held an administrative position in the federal government in 
Baltimore, Md., and was personnel administrator for Woodward and Lothrop 
Department Stores in Washington. She retired as building manager of McLean 
Garden Apartment Complex in Washington, where she lived 23 years before moving 
to Virginia in 1974.
Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Albert Pettigrew Elliott of Williamsburg.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. today in Elmwood Cemetery, 
Norfolk, by the Rev. James W. Brown, former pastor of Williamsburg United 
Methodist Church.
The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to 
the American Cancer Society.
Bucktrout Funeral Home, Williamsburg, is in charge.
