Cooper, died at the residence of her sister, Mrs. Blanche Penman Davis, 1619 Lafayette Boulevard, this morning at 7:45 o’clock after a long illness. She was the daughter of the late John and Mrs. Margaret Harris Penman, a native of Norfolk and was a resident of Washington, D.C., for over 30 years, returning here three years ago. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Ada Cooper Leek, of East Orange, N.J.; two sisters, Mrs. Ada L. Kroenert and Mrs. Blanche Penman Davis, of Norfolk; three brothers, T.R. Penman and James Andrew Penman, of Norfolk and Richard J. Penman, of Baltimore, Md.; two grandchildren, Mrs. James E. Davis, of Washington, D.C., and Staff Sergt. Edward P. Cooper, of U.S. Army and great grandchild. Mrs. Cooper was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, of Washington. Funeral services will be conducted Friday afternoon at 4 o’clock from the funeral chapel of James V. Derry, 1920 Colley Avenue. Burial will be in Cedar Grove.
