Born in Clarington, S.C., she was a housewife and the widow of James Edward Cooper. Mrs. Cooper was a member of First Baptist Church Lambert's Point. Survivors include six sons, Calvin Durant of Stamford, Conn., James E. Cooper, Charles Cooper, both of Norfolk, Lawrence Cooper of Indianapolis, Ind., Randolph Cooper and George Cooper, both of Norfolk; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; a great-great-great-grandchild; and a host of other relatives and friends. A funeral will be conducted at noon Thursday in New Calvary Baptist Church by the Rev. G.G. Campbell. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery . The body will be ready for viewing at 3 p.m. Wednesday. The body will be placed in church at 10 a.m. The family will assemble at the residence at 11 a.m. for the procession. Carlos A. Howard Funeral Home, Norfolk, is handling arrangements.
