A native of Winfall, N.C., he lived in Norfolk 53 years. He was a member of New Calvary Baptist Church and Eastern Light Masonic Lodge 4. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Emma Copeland; two sons, William Copeland of Norfolk and Clarence Copeland of Washington, D.C., and one daughter, Mrs. Emma Dixon of Chicago. The body was taken to Morning Glory Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. in New Calvary Baptist Church by the Rev. Samuel A. Wilson. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
