Norfolk - William H. Copeland of 968 Rugby street, the husband of Mrs. Carrie B. 
Copeland, died in a hospital recently.

A native of Winfall, NC, he was a son of the late William F. and Mrs. Adeline M. 
Copeland.

He worked for Lamberts Point Coal Piers of Norfolk & Western Railway 58 years 
and retired.

He was chairman of the Deacon Board of Queen Street Baptist Church, and was a 
Mason.

Besides his widow, surviving are a brother, James Elbert Copeland of Winfall;  
and three sisters, Mrs. Marie Young of New York, Mrs. Sophronia Beard of 
Yonkers, NY;  and Mrs. Mary Thompson of Norfolk;  and nieces and nephews.

The body was taken to Hale Funeral Home.
