Norfolk - James E. Copeland,59, of 232 36th St., a native of Elizabeth City, NC,
died May 18 in Lake Taylor City Hospital.

He was retired from Southern States Fertilizer Co. after 30 years. He was a
member of First Calvary Baptist Church.

Survivors include two brothers, William Copeland and Jasper Copeland of
Elizabeth City.

A funeral service was May 22 in Citizens Funeral Chapel by the Rev. J. L.
Kearney. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery.
