A funeral service for Mrs. Martha Copeland of 2316 Ruffin street will be held
Saturday in First Calvary Baptist Church. The Rev. C. B. Griffin will deliver
the eulogy.

Mrs. Copeland was a retired employee of an oyster packing firm and a former
owner of Copeland Restaurant. She was a member of First Calvary Baptist Church.

A native of Portsmouth, she was a daughter of Alex and Mrs. Mary Smith and the
widow of James Copeland.

She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Constance Foreman, Mrs. Mary Washington
and Miss Josephine Copeland of Norfolk, and Mrs. Naomi Morton of Portsmouth; 11
grandchildren: 32 great-grandchildren; and a great great grandchild.

Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery with Riddick Funeral Service handling
arrangements.
