MARY A. CORDELLI
VIRGINIA BEACH - Mary Angelina Cordelli, 68, passed away Monday, Sept. 4, 2006.  
Born in New York, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Maria Cordelli

Mary was a graduate of the Southampton School of Nursing in 1959, in Southampton, 
N.Y.  She retired after 42 years of dedicated service as an obstetrics nurse from 
Mid Island Hospital in Bethpage, N.Y.  She was an avid gardener and a lover of all 
animals, especially birds.  She was a member of the Parrot Club of Long Island and 
the Peninsula Caged Bird Society of Hampton, Va.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her sister, Ida M. Bontemps; four nieces, 
Cheri Congleton, Cathy Bontemps, Janet Benedetti and Gayle Kalin; four nephews, 
Joe Bontemps, Don Bontemps, Frank DeClara and Steven DeClara; and numerous 
grandnieces and -nephews.

A Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Matthews 
Catholic Church, with Father Joseph Facura officiating.  The family will receive 
friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Altmeyer Funeral Home in Virginia Beach.  The 
family requests, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the Parkinson's 
Disease Foundation.  Condolences may be offered to the family at www.altmeyer.com.
