Corleto, 74, a native of Norfolk, died June 25, 2005, at his home surrounded by his family. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Catherine Schwallenberg Corleto. Louis was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and later Holy Trinity Catholic Church. He was a graduate of Maury High School and Virginia Tech, Class of 1959. He was an electrical engineer employed by the Newport News Shipbuilding and Dry Dock Company and then Public Service Electric and Gas, in New Jersey. Louis served as a chairman of his Parish Council and on the Bishops Pastoral Council. He was a past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus, Robert B. Kealy Council, No. 3548 in Norfolk. He was an active member of his church community and most recently served as a volunteer at the Outer Banks Hospital in Nags Head. He was a loving father to nine children and 24 grandchildren: Patrick N. Corleto, of Atlanta, Ga., Mary Cay Kelley (Kevin), of Oviedo, Fla., Michael (deceased), Beth Arseneau (Ron), of Arlington, Texas, Anne Surprenant, of Nags Head, N.C., Sally O.J. Domenico (Steve), of Mount Laurel, N.J., Dr. Louis P. Corleto, Jr. (Lydie), of Johnson City, Tenn., Ellen Corleto, of Westmont, N.J., Joseph (Holly), of Williamstown, N.J. He had 24 grandchildren who loved their Pop-Pop. He is also survived by his brother, Vincent D. Corleto, and wife, Pat, of Virginia Beach. A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery. A Christian wake will be held Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the Norfolk Chapel of H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
