Norfolk Ledger Dispatch February 8, 1934

Mrs. Mary Riddell Corley, 93, widow of Col. James Lawrence Corley, Confederate 
States of America, and daughter of the late John and Catherine Riddell, died at 
1:45 o'clock this morning at the residence, 209 Duncan Avenue, after an illness 
of about a week. She was a native of Nantucket, Mass. and had been a resident of 
Norfolk for 60 years.
She is survived by one son, Lawrence Heth Corley; two grandchildren, Mrs. Donald 
James, of Norfolk and Mrs. J. O'Keefe, of Baltimore and two great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Corley was for many years a member of St. Paul's Church. Services will be 
held at H.D. Oliver's Funeral Apartments, No. 610-612 East Freemason Street, 
Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock, with Rev. Vincent C. Franks, D.D., rector of 
St. Paul's Church, officiating. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
