She was a native of Norfolk and the daughter of Moses and Mrs. Mary Eliza Cornick. She was a graduate of Hampton Institute, and began teaching in 1900 in the old Bowdens Ferry Road School. At the time of her retirement about 20 years ago, she was on the faculty of the recently demolished Armstrong School, on Cumberland Street. She is survived by a number of cousins, all living in Norfolk. Funeral services will be conducted today at 1 p.m. at Bank Street Baptist Church by the Rev. J. B. Henderson, pastor. Burial will be in West Point Cemetery.
