Mrs. Priscilla Cotton, widow of the late Solomon Cotton and one of Norfolk’s
oldest and most highly respected citizens, died at the residence of her daughter
and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Dogan, of Avenue A.  The funeral was held at
St. John A.M.E. Church, Tuesday, March 25.  Rev. J. A. Young, the pastor,
officiated.  There was a large number of friends in attendance and there were a
number of beautiful floral designs.  Mrs. Cotton is survived by one daughter,
Mrs. Lucy C. Dogan, a brother, Mr. Thos. Kirby and a niece, Miss  Allen Kirby
and a number of other relatives.
