Cotton, wife of John Cotton, died at 11:40 o'clock last night at the family residence, 200 Arlington Place, in the 73rd year of her age. Mrs. Cotton was a native of Virginia and had been a resident of Norfolk during the past 65 years and was well known and esteemed. She was a member of the Spurgeon Memorial Baptist Church. Mrs. Cotton is survived by her husband, John Cotton; three daughters, Mrs. John Guess, Miss Daisy A. Cotton and Mrs. Richard Jarvis; two sons, E.J. and S.P. Cotton, all of Norfolk; thirteen grandchildren and one great grandchild; one sister, Mrs. Emma Stacey of Lynn, Mass. and one brother, Thomas Bew of Norfolk. The funeral arrangements have not been completed. ************************************************************************* The funeral of Mrs. Annie M. Cotton was held from Spurgeon Memorial Baptist Church yesterday afternoon at 3 o'clock, the services being conducted by the pastor, Rev. B. Lacy Hoge and Rev. J. Truman Anderson. The casket was covered with white carnations and there were many beautiful floral designs. A quartette composed of A.C. Dyer, A.L. Clark, Mrs. F.G. Davis and Miss Ruth Fulford sang "Sometime We'll Understand." Interment was in Elmwood Cemetery. The pallbearers were L.M. Overton, E.A. Binns, H.S. Jarvis, James Cherry, W.H. Luck and S.P. Wixon.
