The Virginian Pilot (Norfolk Va) Tuesday December 26, 1978 
Jesse J. Couch Sr., 58, of 2791 Grandy Ave., a native of Durham, N.C., and the 
husband of Mrs. Eva P. Couch, died Monday in a hospital. He was the son of Mrs. 
Lola Perry Couch.

He was the owner and operator of Pegco Plumbing & Heating Co. before his 
retirement. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a member of Brentwood 
Baptist Church.

Other survivors include a daughter, Miss Peggy Leigh Couch of Norfolk; a son, 
Jesse J. Couch Jr. of Portsmouth; and four sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Carpenter of 
Pittsboro, N.C., and Mrs Mabel Keith, Mrs. Bessie Green, and Mrs. Mildred White 
of Durham.

A funeral will be held Wednesday at noon in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, 
Tidewater Drive Chapel, by the Rev. John D. Sykes Jr. Burial will be in Forest 
Lawn Cemetery.
