NORFOLK — A funeral service for Col. William Couper, 79, retired business officer 
of Virginia Military Institute, who died Saturday, will be held today at noon in 
Elmwood Cemetery by the Rev. Beverly Tucker White of St. Andrew’s Episcopal 
Church.
A native of Norfolk, he was a son of John D. and Mrs. Fannie Capps Couper.
The family has requested that, in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to R. 
E. Lee Episcopal Church, Lexington. The family will be at the home of a sister. 
Mrs. Chester H. Prince, 1000 Westover Ave.
