NORFOLK - Ada Addlee Cowan, 91, went to be with the Lord Dec. 15, 2007. A native 
of Guin, Ala., she lived in Norfolk for 65 years. She was a member of Christ the 
King Catholic Church, an avid gardener and she loved to bake and care for her 
pets. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond T. Cowan and her son, 
Raymond Earl Cowan.

She is survived by a son, Allon Cowan; three daughters, Alma Cowan Hollingsworth, 
Mary Rogar, Sharon Cowan and their respective spouses; 13 grandchildren, 27 great-
grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.

A private graveside service will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in St. Mary's 
Catholic Cemetery on Granby Street in Norfolk. An open visitation will be Tuesday 
from noon to 5 p.m. in Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel.
