Norfolk Virginian January 9, 1894
Capt. George W. Cox, aged about 28 years, died at his residence on Avenue A 
yesterday morning from pneumonia. The funeral took place at 3 o’clock yesterday 
from Asbury M. E. Church and was conducted by Rev. J. T. Routten. Atlantic Lodge, 
I. O. O. F., and Massasoit Tribe, Imp. O. R. M., of both of which organizations 
the deceased was a member, were present to pay the last tribute.
