Mrs. Cox was born in Norfolk and was a lifetime member of First Baptist Church Bute Street. She taught at Booker T. Washington High School, Norfolk, Benjamin Franklin High School and Voc Tech, and Y.M.C.A. New York. She was a member of A.K.A. Sorority. She was the widow of Chauncey Cox and the daughter of the late Bettie Ross Cowling and the late Charles T. Cowling. A graveside service will be conducted at noon Monday in Calvary Cemetery by the Rev. Robert G. Murray. Friends may assemble at the cemetery at 11:45 a.m. Hale Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
