Ledger-Star  October 7, 1967
JAMES W. (JIMMY) COX, 61, of 4214 Colonial Ave., Norfolk, former St. Mary's 
Academy basketball coach and Norfolk Orioles star infielder and manager, died 
Friday in a hospital.  A lifelong resident of Norfolk, he was a son of James J. 
and Mrs. Mary Ellen Walsh Cox.  He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic 
Church.

Surviving are two sisters, Miss Margaret L. Cox, of Norfolk, and Mrs. Mary Ellen 
Cox Knox, of Seattle, Wash., and a brother, George W. Cox, Sr., of Norfolk.  The 
Rosary will be recited Sunday at 7:30 p.m. in H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments.  A 
funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 
Painter Street, with burial in St. Mary's Cemetery.  The family will be at 4214 
Colonial Ave.
