She was the youngest of six children born to the late Carlos Aloisio and Catherine Farley Aloisio. Mrs. Cox was born Feb. 9, 1921 in Norfolk. She was educated at Maury High School and graduated in 1939. She retired from C & P Telephone after 26 years of service and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America Club. She was also a longtime Sultana of the Padul Caravan of the International Order of the Alhambra. She married the late George W. Cox in 1944. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, Carl and Michael "Bud" Aloisio; and sisters Frances Becker, Ellen "Ella" Aloisio and Anna "Tootsie" Dupree. She was also predeceased by a son, Michael J. Cox. Mrs. Cox is survived by her sons, George W. Cox, Jr., of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Paul V. Cox, of Minden, Nev.; her daughter, Jean-Mairee Cox Vigneault, and her husband, Dale; and daughter-in-law, Barbara Fitzpatrick Cox, both of Norfolk; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. The family wishes to thank the management and staff of The Ballentine Home and the Medi Home Health and Hospice for their high level of care during Kathryn's final illness. The family will receive friends in the Norfolk Chapel of H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts. today from 6 to 8 p.m. with an Alhambra Crescent Service being conducted at 7 p.m. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to a favorite charity or to the Order of the Alhambra, P.O. Box 4139, Norfolk, VA 23541.
