Born in Mathews County, she lived in Hampton 47 years. She was the widow of Charles W. Cox Sr. and was a member of First Methodist Church and Woodman Circle, Grove 10. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. F. B. Estes of Hampton and Mrs. John L. Steele of Washington; one son, CWO Charles W. Cox Jr., now in Germany; two sisters, Miss Bessie Borum and Mrs. C. B. Stindle of Mathews; one brother, Capt. John W. Borum of New York City; and five grandchildren. A funeral service will be held in Peninsula Funeral Home Thursday at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Howard Peters, D.D., pastor of First Methodist Church.
