Gayle was a dedicated employee of Catholic High School for 34 years and loved every minute of her time there. She retired from full-time employment with the school at 78 years old. Gayle enjoyed tailgating with friends and family, she was a cheerleader at heart and loved supporting her Hokies and Crusaders. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her husband and large fun-loving family. Gayle loved the Lord with all her heart and was a voracious reader of her Bible. Reading was a favorite pastime her whole life. Gayle was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin P. Eubanks and Effie G. Eubanks; her oldest daughter, Lynnda Gayle Prince; and her son, William Frederick Prince Jr. She is survived by her adoring and faithful husband, Gary W. Coxford; her three devoted daughters, Wanda Cornwell (Jim, deceased), Pam Thomas (Doug) and Sonya Millsap, (Brett). Gayle was also blessed with 11 grandchildren and 11 great- grandchildren who will all miss her terribly. She brightened and touched the lives of countless others. Gayle’s life is a shining example of the positive impact one person can have on others. Very special friends, Glen and Barbara Hawthorn and Janis Austin are counted among a huge host of wonderful loving friends that are like family. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 30, 2023, at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Princess Anne Chapel. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 31, 2023, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Norfolk.
