Cradle, 62, of 2421 E. Princess Anne Road died Wednesday at 10:50 a.m. in his home after a short illness. A native of Swan Quarter, N.C., he was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Cradle and the husband of Mrs. Annie Cradle. He was a janitor for Virginia Electric & Power Co. and was a member of House of Prayer for All People. Besides his widow, surviving are four sons, James W. Cradle and Johnny Cradle of Norfolk, David L. Cradle of New York City and William E. Cradle of Portsmouth; three daughters, Mrs. Mamie Jeannette and Mrs. Annie Bell Moore of Norfolk and Miss Millie Mae Cradle of Washington; and two sisters, Mrs. Bell Moore and Mrs. Lizzie Salby and two brothers, Zake Cradle and Allen Cradle, all of Swan Quarter. The body was taken to Hale Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held in House of Prayer for all People Sunday at 1 p.m. by Elder J.J. Williams. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
