Craft, 40, of 1449 W. 47th St. died Tuesday in a Norfolk hospital after a short illness. A native of Norfolk, he was a son of Mrs. Vashti Craft and the late Alfred Craft. He was the husband of Mrs. Sophronia M. Craft. He was a veteran of World War II and employed by the Post Office Department 15 years. He was a trustee of First Baptist Church, Lamberts Point, scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 71, and a member of National Association of Letter Carriers, YMCA and Civic, social Religious Club. Besides his mother and widow, surviving are a son, Maurice R. Craft Jr. and a daughter, Miss Karen A. Craft, both of Norfolk; six brothers, Lawrence Craft, Edward Craft and Irvin Craft of Norfolk, Stanley Craft and William Craft of New York and Harold Craft of Sacramento, Calif.; and three sisters, Mrs. Vera Hagans of Norfolk and Mrs. Margaret Smith and Mrs. Doris Williams of New York. A funeral service will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. in First Baptist Church, Lamberts Point, by the Rev. H.H. Bobbitt. Burial with full military honors.
