The Virginian Pilot and Norfolk Landmark January 14, 1935

Mrs. Mary White Crandall, aged 76, widow of B.F. Crandall, died yesterday m
morning at 7:45 o’clock after a long illness. She was the daughter of John and M
Mrs. Susan Rote, a native of Pennsylvania and a resident of Norfolk for 60 y
years. Surviving her are two sisters, Mrs. Nicola Shamrach, of Long Beach, C
California, and Mrs. Sue Knarr of Mifflirburg, Pa., and two grandchildren, Mrs. L
Lillian Derry Brown, of Norfolk, and Mrs. Derry Moore, of Kingston, Ontario, C
Canada. The body was removed to the funeral home of James V. Derry, 346 West P
Princess Anne Road. Notice of funeral will appear later.
