Herbert Wesley Crawford, 71, of the 8300 block of Chesapeake Blvd., passed away 
March 3, 2004, in a local hospital. A native of Roanoke, Va., Mr. Crawford was 
retired from Frito-Lay. He was the widower of Nell M. Crawford.

He is survived by his stepdaughter, Jean W. Gregory of Norfolk; three step-
grandchildren, Crystal Chandler, of Richmond, Va., Dale Gregory, of Apopka, Fla., 
and Carla Sommers, of Norfolk; three step-great-grandchildren, Stephen and Kyle 
Chandler and Troy Sommers; and two sisters, Doris Gregory and Betty Jernigan, both 
of Virginia Beach.

A memorial service will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, 
Tidewater Drive Chapel. Entombment of his cremains will be in St. Mary's Cemetery 
Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American 
Cancer Society.
