The Norfolk Virginian Pilot October 20, 1946
Augustine W. Creecy, 85, husband of Mrs. Mabel Thacker Creecy and son of the 
late David R. and Mrs. Pauline Wilkinson Creecy, a native and former well-known 
resident of Norfolk, died Saturday morning at 12:20 o'clock at Hampton. Besides 
his wife, Mrs. Mabel Thacker Creecy, he is survived by one son, Dr. A.A. 
Creecy, of Hampton; two daughters, Mrs. Edmund A. Smith, of Richmond, and Mrs. 
H.C. Loyd, of Roanoke; one brother, D.R. Creecy, and a sister, Miss Sallie 
Creecy, both of Richmond and three granddaughters.
Services will be held at the chapel of the H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, this 
afternoon at 2 o'clock, with the Rev. Sparks W. Melton, D.D., pastor of 
Freemason Street Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will be in Elmwood 
Cemetery.
