Virginian-Pilot March 23, 1909
The funeral of the late J. W. Crockett, vice-president of the Crockett Lumber and 
Pile Company, who died in New York last week, was held from the residence of his 
brother, J. B. Crockett, 112 Lovitt avenue, Brambleton, at 3 o’clock yesterday 
afternoon and was numerously attended. The service was conducted by the Rev. C. H. 
Calloway of Trinity Methodist church. Interment was in Elmwood cemetery. Following 
were the pallbearers: J. W. Barber, Edward Rhodes, C. Preston Denby, D. T. Gornto, 
C. S. Swartz, Robert Coates, T. W. Thomas and Mr. Keister.
