CROMWELL Well-Known Norfolk County Man Was Leader Among Progressive Farmers Joshua Rufus Cromwell, aged 67, known for many years as one of the most progressive farmers of th section died yesterday morning at 4:05 o’clock at his home, 4102 Granby street. A native of Anne Arundel County, Md., he was the son of Frank Thomas and Isabel Phelps Cromwell. He had spent practically his entire life here, however, Besides his wife, Mrs. Bettie Hart Cromwell, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Frederick A. Haycox and Mrs. Charles E. Arnold, of Norfolk; four sons, Beverly Hart Cromwell, of Baltimore; Joshua Rufus Jr., Frank Thomas and Robert Borden Cromwell, of Norfolk; five grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Ryland J. Malbon, of Norfolk, and Mrs. Ned Macon, of Los Angeles, Calif., and one brother, Richard Thomas Comwell, of Norfolk. He was a member of the Park Place Methodist Church. Funeral services for Mr. Cromwell will be held at the residence tomorrow at noon, with the Rev. Frank L. Wells, D.D., and the Rev. W. H. T. Squires, D.D., officiating. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
