Cropper, of Hugo Street, Norview, Norfolk County, died last night at 6:15 o'clock of injuries sustained Friday when he was knocked off his bicycle by an automobile. The accident, which occurred near the boy's home, resulted in skull fractures and facial injuries. The driver of the automobile took the boy to the Protestant Hospital. Detective Leon Nowitzky investigated for the city coroner's office last night and City Coroner C.D.J. MacDonald announced that an inquest will be held Tuesday afternoon, February 6. Police records on the accident were not available last night and the name of the driver could not be learned. Norfolk County officers will be officially notified of the death today and such action as is taken will be taken by them, as the accident occurred within their jurisdiction. Besides his parents, George W. and Mrs. Alice Cropper, the lad is survived by four brothers, George W. Jr., Roland, Lloyd and Robert Cropper, of Colorado and one sister, Gladys A. Cropper, of Norfolk. John was a native of Bengal, Me. His father, a Navy man, is now attached to a ship in Cuban waters. ******************************************************************************* John Lawrence Cropper — Funeral services for Mr. Cropper, of Norview, were conducted yesterday morning at 10 o’clock at St. Mary's Catholic Church with the Rev. A. J. Taylor, assistant pastor, officiating. Interment was in St. Mary’s churchyard. Pallbearers were Felix Catesro, Horace Culpepper, Walter Ketter, Jimmy Stubbs, Fred Strickrodt, Elvine Jackson, Mark Hanna and Foster Peigo.
