NORFOLK — Mrs. Katherine Holloway Crowling, 86, of 117 Hicks Ave., a retired 
hospital nurse, died Monday in a hospital. A lifelong resident of the area, she 
was the widow of George W. Crowling and a daughter of Joseph and Mrs. Missouri 
Bright Holloway.
At retirement, she had worked at Norfolk Municipal Hospital and Lake Taylor City 
Hospital 35 years.
Surviving are six daughters, Mrs. Cleophia Caffee, Mrs. Margaret Mulqueen, Miss 
Elizabeth Crowling, Mrs. Katherine Messina and Mrs. Dorothy Edwards of Norfolk, 
and Mrs. Eunice Kraemer of Virginia Beach; two sons, George G. Crowling of 
Chesapeake, and James J. Crowling of Virginia Beach; a sister, Mrs. Etta Jessup, 
of Virginia Beach; 18 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
The body was taken to H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments.
