Mary Veronica Crowling, 60, of the 1800 block of Ara Street, died Jan. 16, 2000, 
in a Norfolk hospital.

Ms. Crowling was a native and lifelong resident of Norfolk. She was the daughter 
of the late Marcellus J. and Mary Garland Crump Crowling. She was employed with 
the Bank of the Commonwealth. She was a member of St. Pius X. Catholic Church in 
Norfolk.

Survivors include a sister, Catherine Akers of Norfolk; a brother, Marcellus 
Crowling Jr. of Norfolk; one niece, Carol Akers of North Carolina; and one nephew, 
William Akers of Norfolk.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic 
Cemetery by the Rev. Edward Richardson. The family will receive friends at H.D. 
Oliver Funeral Apartments, Norfolk, from 7 to 8 p.m. today.
