Norfolk Virginian Pilot August 30, 1950

George W. Crowling, 77, husband of Mrs. Catherine Holloway Crowling and son of 
the late George and Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Crozier Crowling, a native of 
Portsmouth, and a lifelong resident of this section, died yesterday at 6:30 a.m. 
at the residence, Virginia Avenue, Glenrock,
Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, George G. Crowling and James J. 
Crowling; four daughters, Mrs. Cleophia Crowling Caffee, Mrs. Margaret Crowling 
Mulqueen, Mrs. Katherine Crowling Messina and Miss Elizabeth Crozier Crowling; 
one brother, J. Samuel Crowling and one sister, Miss Mary E. Crowling, all of 
Norfolk and 13 grandchildren.
The body will be taken from the H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments to St. Mary's 
Catholic Church for services tomorrow at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Mary's 
Cemetery. Rosary services will be held at the Funeral Apartments tonight at 8 
o'clock.

George W. Crowling — The body of Mr. Crowling, who died Tuesday at the residence 
at Virginia Avenue, Glenrock, will be taken from the H. D. Oliver Funeral 
Apartments to St. Mary’s Catholic Church for services today at 10 a. m. Burial 
will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
