Funeral of a Sister of Charity

We briefly announced in our yesterday’s issue the death of Sister Maura Cuddy, 
which occurred at the Hospital of St. Vincent de Paul Friday evening, at 7:10 
o’clock. The deceased had long been a sufferer, coming to this city nearly two 
years ago for the benefit of her health, since which time she resided at the 
hospital. For twenty-five years previous to coming to Norfolk, she was attached to 
the Charity Hospital of New Orleans. Her funeral took place yesterday afternoon at 
4 o’clock from the hospital, the Rev. Father Myers, of the Church of the 
Immaculate Conception, Baltimore, officiating at the obsequies, and her remains 
were interred in the Sisters’ lot, in the Catholic Cemetery.
