Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Friday, August 14, 1998 
Lucille M. Cuffee, 94, of the 2900 block of Corprew Ave., died Aug. 12, 1998, at
Sentara Leigh Memorial Hospital.

Born in Norfolk, she was the widow of Warren N. Cuffee Sr. She taught at Liberty
Park Kindergarten for 20 years and was a member of St. John's A.M.E. Church,
Norfolk.

Survivors include a daughter, Joelle C. Cowell and her husband, Richard Cowell
Jr., of Norfolk; a son, Warren N. Cuffee Jr. of Washington, D.C., and a
daughter-in-law, Patricia Cuffee of Landover, Md.; three granddaughters, Vida C.
Edmonds and her husband, Tony Edmonds, of Norfolk, Wanda and her husband,
Charles Williams Jr., of Virginia Beach and Karla E. Cowell of Forestville, Md.;
five great-grandchildren; a step-grandson, Roy Anderson and his wife, Gwen, of
Largo, Md.; a niece, Shirley S. Brown of Virginia Beach; two nephews, Frederick
Mercer and Elwood R. Mercer and his wife, Lita, of New York; a very special
friend, Mary Louise Green of Washington, D.C.; and a host of other relatives and
friends.

A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. John A.M.E. Church, 545 E. Bute
St., Norfolk, by the Rev. Hinton. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery . Family
and friends will assemble at 1 p.m. Saturday at 2908 Corprew Ave., Norfolk, for
the funeral procession to the church. The body will be placed in the church at 1
p.m. Metropolitan Funeral Service, Southside Chapel, Berkley Avenue, is in charge.
