NORFOLK—James (Jim) Cullifer, 53, of 5705 Newport Ave., co-owner of Lafayette 
Builders, died Thursday in his home.
A native of Roxobel, N.C., he lived here 34 years. He operated the building firm 
30 years. He was a Navy veteran of World War II.
He was a member of Park Place Baptist Church.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Virginia Pearson Cullifer; and three daughters, 
Mrs. Linda C. Johnson and Mrs. Karen R. Pritchard of Chesapeake, and Mrs. Marie C. 
Roosendaal of McLean.
A funeral service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in H. D. Oliver Funeral 
Apartments by the Rev. Paul B. Watlington Jr. Burial will be in St. Mary’s 
Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to the American Cancer 
Society.
