He was a native of Hertford County, N.C. and had been a resident of Norfolk for the past 58 years and was a retired city employe. Surviving him are three sons, Charles E., William J. Jr. and Harry W. Cullipher, four grandchildren and two nieces, all of Norfolk. The body was removed to the funeral chapel of James V. Derry, Colley and Harrington Avenues, pending completion of funeral arrangements. ******************************************************************* William James Cullipher - Funeral services for Mr. Cullipher, who died suddenly at his residence, 951 Sheldon Avenue, Wednesday, were conducted yesterday afternoon at the funeral chapel of James V. Derry by the Rev. Henry W. Tiffany, pastor of the Park Place Baptist Church, assisted by the Rev. W.W. Williford, secretary of the V.E.P.Co. Y.M.C.A. There was a large attendance. During the services, R. Redwood Richardson sang "Sunrise," and was accompanied on the organ by Mrs. F.M. Ambrose. Pallbearers were Walter L. Allen, C. King, Jack Howat, Eugene Pritchard, J.Horton Gale and W.J. Stone. Burial was in Elmwood Cemetery.
