The Norfolk Virginian Pilot August 4, 1937 


Rowland H. Culpeper, aged 58, husband of Mrs. Rhoda Stewart Culpeper and son of 
the late Joseph S. and Mrs. Fannie Mills Culpeper, died at the residence, No. 3 
Traymore Apartments, 7241 Raleigh Avenue, yesterday afternoon at 5:35 o’clock. 
Mr. Culpeper was a native and lifelong resident of Norfolk and for 18 years was 
probation officer of the Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court. He was a member 
of Christ and St. Luke’s Church, the Wesleymen Bible Class and Corinthian Lodge 
No 266, A.F.&A.M. Besides his wife he is survived by one daughter, Miss Nancy 
Mills Culpeper, and a brother F. Mills Culpeper, all of Norfolk.
Funeral services will be held at the residence tomorrow morning at 10 o’clock 
with the Rev. W. Taylor Willis, rector of Christ and St. Luke’s Church, 
officiating. Interment will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery.
