Virginian-Pilot, October 14, 1902
Mrs. Annie Culpepper, wife of Mr. William Culpepper, and a very highly r
respected lady, died at her home at Indian Creek, Norfolk County, Sunday m
morning after a short illness. The deceased was the daughter of Mr. Jerome P
Powers, of Hickory, Va., and leaves a husband and two small children.
The funeral was conducted from the late residence yesterday at 12 p.m., Rev. P. 
S. C. Davis, pastor of South Norfolk Baptist Church, officiating. The interment 
was in Elmwood Cemetery, Norfolk.
