The Norfolk Virginian Pilot May 11, 1937
Joshua H. Culpepper, 82, of Hickory, Norfolk County, died at the home of his 
daughter, Mrs. Belden Jones, 907 Wilson road, South Norfolk, Sunday night at 
10:30 o'clock.  He was a son of the late Henry and Letitia Parr Culpepper and a 
native of Currituck County, N.C., but had made his home in Norfolk County 
nearly all his life.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. P.W. Matthews and Mrs. A.J. Etheridge, of 
Hickory, and Mrs. Jones; three sons, W.H. Culpepper, of London, Ohio, and 
Charles W. and Walter B. Culpepper, of Norfolk; 19 grandchildren and nine great-
grandchildren.  he was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church at Hickory.
Funeral services will be conducted at the J.R. Williams Funeral Home, 1027 
Chesapeake avenue, South Norfolk, this afternoon at 3 o'clock.  Interment will 
be in Riverside Memorial Park.
