The Virginian Pilot November 3, 1961
George Lee Culpepper, 69, died in a Norfolk hospital Wednesday after a long 
illness.
He was the son of George A. and Mrs. Helen Leona Padgett Culpepper and the 
husband of the late Mrs. Lou Grimes Culpepper.
A native of Macon County, Ga., he lived in this area 37 years, lately at 1085 
W. 39th St.
He retired from the Gas Department of Virginia Electric & Power Co. after 
serving 36 years.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. William N. Moon of Naples, Italy, and Mrs. 
Charles G. Caldwell of Norfolk; two sons Ryley Culpepper of Roanoke and Vernon 
Culpepper of Ft. Bliss, Tex., one sister, Mrs. Leona Cohen of Norfolk; and six 
grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted in Derry-Twiford Funeral Home at a time to 
be announced.  Burial will be in Riverside Memorial Park.
