The said event took place at his residence in Berkley on Friday, surrounded by his numerous family, who received his last dying words of love and affection. Captain Cunningham was consumptive from his earliest boyhood, and it is supposed that the severe exposure of his calling hastened on if it was not the prime cause of the catastrophe. Through life he was a devoted Christian of the M. E. Church, and also belonged to the Masonic and Odd Fellows Orders. He was also an ardent admirer of his native State of Virginia, and when the war broke out in 1861, and immediately after the Governor's proclamation was issued he with the others of the Pilotage Association espoused the cause of their State, and remined in active service until peace was proclaimed. Captain Cunningham was a quiet, unpretentious man, of sterling integrity and honor, and made through life hosts of friends, while we believe he had very few enemies if any. Thus has passed away another of those good men of which it is a pleasure to write. His remains will any. Thus has passed away another of those good men of which it is a pleasure to write. His remains will be taken to their last resting place today from the M. E. Church, Berkley. Requiescat in pace.
